A new article from CBC highlights some of the challenges with Electric Vehicle infrastructure and why adjustable maximum power is an important consideration when choosing an EVSE:
When Ben Baird purchased a fully electric truck, he expected to install the Level 2 charger it came with, at his Yellowknife home.
Ford's F150 Lightning comes with an 80 amp charger. It would have required Baird to upgrade the 100 amp panel in his home to a 200 amp panel. This is why all models of the Grizzl-E feature adjustable maximum current through DIP switches. The adjustable maximum current is a safe and legal method to reduce the charger's maximum output current without making expensive upgrades to the electrical system.
Even better adjustable maximum current allows you to set a lower maximum to start, and if you choose to upgrade your electrical panel later, you can adjust the DIP switches for more power in the charger. Keep posted for the release of the Grizzl-E Ultimate with an 80A maximum and adjustable power for 48A, 40A, 32A, 24A, and 16A.
